Hiatus for WCOOP

Just a quick note that I may not post for a few weeks or put in any Bankroll Project time while the World Championships of Online Poker is going on (or during the pre-event qualifiers going on right now). Not to worry, I didn’t stop posting as a result of any catastrophic loss.

P.s. I played my first Qualifer and busted out in 11th/ 144 in the $4.40 NL turbo rebuy (top 6 win $320 W$, 7-9 pay 82 bucks). I made one rebuy and upon careful examination of my play I made all the right moves, played strong, and just didn’t quite make it.

P.p.s IN THE MEANTIME, feel free to make any requests for entries or articles on this project or my play, etc.

Triple Digits

Cracked one hundred bucks tonight. Under $10 to the next milestone.

UPDATE: Hit the $110 Milestone today and will play my first low limit STT (5+.50) soon.

Back on the Rise

I am again setting new bankroll highs (AKA not losing). My next milestone is $110 when I’ll graduate from the micro stakes to the low stakes $5+.50 STTs and MTTs. Hopefully, my results will be strong at the $3+.40 STTs in the meantime. I played at this buy-in level again today after grinding the dollar tables for a couple of more weeks. I may try to hit the Venus STT leaderboard on Pokerstars and do 20 STTs at $3+.40 before moving up.

Back in Action, Back in Form

So I’m back after a couple of stressful weeks moving etc. Donked off major bankroll in bits playing in poor very unfocused game, and doing obviously dumb / tilt things for way too long. Got it back together over the last two days with 33% SST ROI yesterday and 315% today with two 1st place and two 2nd place finishes in SSTs and a 1st in a two table, and a 2nd in a three table MTT over 6 total games.

I also posted a 110% profit in brief cash game play at the nickel tables today.

I am currently 44th on the Mercury Sit and go leaderboard with 410 points (for a 20 game block) on Pokerstars. I only played two MTTs in that block even though tournaments up to 4 tables will count.

Nickel and Diming them to Death

I’ve moved up to the .05/.10 tables, although I am trying to play as many STTs as possible. Almost had a big payday yesterday, but I donked off my whole stack in two hands when I very uncharacteristically forgot the key rule of self-preservation. I was already free and clear into the money if I didn’t blow my stack. I shouldn’t have tried to bully back and pick off a bluff with an allin.

UPDATE JULY 22nd to 31st: I will be packing and moving this week (as well as working), so I will likely be playing very little or not at all.

Milestone Reached.

I passed $68 and played my first 3+.40 STT. Also, Pokerstars added a Sitngo leaderboard.  I may post my leaderboard progress here.

When a Bankroll Looks like a Bell Curve

I am adjusting to the nickel tables and figuring out what the optimal number to multitable is (somewhere between 4 and 9 so far). I Was up to $65 but donked off lots of bucks before stabilizing. If I weren’t playing the 5% rule I almost for sure would have got broke looking to “get back to even” and chasing on tilt. Another great lesson for me. Hovering around $58 as of July 13th.

The Nickel Tables

I’ve been having good results at the penny tables, but when I reach $40 I plan to jump to the .02/ .05 tables (which i will somewhat inconsistently call the nickel tables, even though I’ve called the .01/.02 tables the penny tables). I originally had planned to phase out the cash game play by this point, but I feel as though it is the best route for me, having patched a number of holes in my micro cash game play.

Update: Movin’ up!

Multi-tabling

I multi-tabled for the first time (x3) at the .01/.02 cash games. I found success, breaking several players and showing patience. Once, I folded pocket aces on river to a big reraise, feeling sure my opponent had a straight.

I am going to add some thoughts on my strategy, starting with the micro-stakes.

UPDATE: multitabled up to x6 with no problems, good success. Today, I played 10seat X5 (instead of the usual 6seat).

Playing by the Rules

I hit my first Milestone today, after finishing 1st / 45 in a 1+.20 MTT. I can now play the penny tables and dollar STT/MTTs while following all of my rules.

Added 50%

Well, I was way down yesterday, playing far too loose late at night, even racing for bucks once or twice. Today though, I made back over 5 bucks and broke the big stack at a penny table. Still reaching for my 20 and 24 dollar Milestones, followed by $44, when i can play the NL and PL heads up lowest limit STTs. I thought about adding a RULE alowing me to play all the lowest level games (such as the $2 +.20 NLHE games, but decided that would lead to too much variance.

Session # 9: 10 Bucks!

I feel as though I’ve shored up a number of big leaks in my cash game. At the penny stakes, behaviors you can convince yourself lay groundwork for good plays in bigger games are entirely lost on ppl here, and I can see already where I had been fooling myself before. The short end of the odds is usually just that, the short end.

I passed $10 this evening. Now I am only buying in with 10% of my bankroll, which gives me more room to loosen up just a bit.

Updated: My next milestones are at $20 and $24, at which point I’ll be able to play the penny cash table and the SST 1+.20, respectively, using my Experiment Rules.
